The giraffe is the world's tallest animal, growing up to 6 metres high, with a unique spot pattern and a surprisingly fast running speed of up to 55 km/h. Despite its towering height, it has the same number of neck bones as humans, while newborn calves can stand within an hour of birth, ready to explore the African savanna.
