The cheetah is the world's fastest land animal, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h, with a long tail that helps it make lightning-fast turns while chasing prey. Although famous for its speed, this graceful cat can't roar—instead it purrs, chirps and growls, and can often be spotted standing on termite mounds or grassy rises, scanning the landscape for its next meal.
